Fifa 09 can't read disc help?

hi i've just recently started playing on fifa 09 again to take a break from fifa 11 and im playing manager mode with spurs and whenever i try to play a match just befor the match is about to come on when im in the arena a message pops up saying this disc is unreadable and it tells me to restart the console and clean the disc with a soft cloth but it still wont work
