What to do about a spirit in our house that my daughter sees?

We just purchased a new home. The very first night sleeping in her new room my daughter claimed to have seen a ghost sitting on her bed when she woke up. She said she wasn't sure if this was a dream or real but was very descriptive and claimed it was a little girl. We explained that it was a dream and dismissed it. Our daughter is 8 and has only made claims like this one other time. She was 2 at that time and really freaked out in my moms house when she said a woman was staring at her. It was obvious she did see what she said she saw because she was terrified and vivid. She said the woman didn't have a mouth and wouldn't go near that room for a while. That same room has always given me and others an eerie feeling. . I never even considered it to be haunted. When this happened however a few other family members confessed they had the same fear of that room. After time she forgot about this incident and it never happened again. The kicker to her seeing a ghost is soon after moving in we found out that our home burned 18 years earlier and a 2 yr old girl died. I was SHOCKED that explained Trinity seeing this little girl on her bed. We confirmed the story and even discovered the girl was found in my daughters closet. She does not know about this because she doesn't seem too scared and still sleeps in her room and we don't want to scare her. For a couple months she didn't say anything about ghosts until the other night. She said someone was leaning over the foot of her bed then disappeared. We have only been here a couple of months and I don't want this to escalate. We are Christians and have discouraged our daughter to communicate with this spirit but what do we do if the spirit is persistent? How should we handle this situation? Thank You
