Crush has a girlfriend?

ok i written on yahoo answers before about my situation. this guy i have known since i was little, i am crazy about him. i was under the impression he liked me too. well, today i went to a gathering and he was there and he brought a girl with him. i questioned someone if this girl was his girlfriend and they told me yes. i am totally crushed right now. all i can do is cry. we never went out, we just watched each other from afar. its hard because i care for him as a friend and in a romantic way. now, i feel like i lost him. what would you do? i just don't feel like there is any hope for me anymore.
