How hard is it exactly to be raise a puppy?(question for ppl who have raised puppies)?

I would like to get a puppy hopefully someday soon but i realize that once the novelty wears off you still have a lot of responsibility like socialising and house training and making sure it gets the right amount of exercise and making sure its healthy.I have never been around dogs for too long but ive always liked the ones i was even for a short time and have always wanted one and have had other animals.so how hard is it going to be like say if i get a gsd pup or a lab.
