Is this not the most depressing Magic: the Gathering game ever?

In a casual game at Play It, I was running a Zendikar Vamp deck (yes, I'm that cheap), and had my opponent down to one life, no creatures, while I had 2 Guul Draz's (3/2 Fear), and two 2/2's. He had been slightly mana-screwed, and I had shut down everything he did play. Finally, since he only has one life left, I make a horrible mistake: I attack with ONE Guul Draz. He bolts it. Next turn, he drops BBE, cascading into a 1/1. Frightened of his BBE, I again attack with only Guul Draz, because of his fear. He bolts it. Next turn, he wipes my last two creatures, gives his BBE lifelink, and swings, gaining 3 for a total of 4 life. My next draw: Piranha Marsh. FML.
